The Alpina NIS Control cross country ski system.
The Alpina NIS Control cross country skis and bindings are a 50% in track and 50% out of track cross country ski. This light weight cross country ski offers excellent stability. The SCUFF TUFF top skin is designed to resist accumulating snow on the top keeping it light in weight while increasing the durability (less scratches). It has a wood core with a cap construction that increases edge control and durability. The NO-WAX base has a Ultra Grip kick area which holds in a variety of conditions.

Alpina NIS binding advantage.......
- Auto step in: Makes it easy on your back and yourself. The NNN T4 is designed to direct the boot to correct step-in position. The step-in mechanism gives a distinct "click" as the boot is fastened. It's a convenient and comfortable way to get in and out of your bindings without bending and stretching. To release, just press the button on the toe piece with your pole and step out.
- Performance: The binding is a full 55 mm wide, giving better stability and ski control.
- Weight: The binding is a light 305 gr. per pair.
- The NIS binding-to-ski energy transfer is far improved over any screwed on binding system. Screwed on cross country ski bindings create "contact gaps" with the skis surface during prolonged and high-performance use. These gaps are caused by the unavoidable distortion of the binding and results in a noticable loss of energy transfer. The NIS system eliminates this distortion because the NIS plate is fully integrated with the ski. It cannot distort because it is factory bonded with the ski and the Alpina Rottefella NIS ski bindings are in full contact with the continuous NIS ski plates. This translates to a total energy transfer, added feel and response.
- Everyone from high performance ski racers to beginner/recreational nordic skiers will truly appreciate the technological innovations and ease of use the NIS system offers. School programs, nordic ski touring centers and anyone sharing cross country skiis will also appreciate how the NIS system allows for universal ftting of ski boot sizes due to the bindings' ability to slide into several positions to meet specific boot sizes.
Our comments: We chose this ski for our cross country rental department for its durability and versatility. It is a lightweight ski with excellent stability. The NIS binding system allows personalization to help you ski better.
