Old Therm-ic vs New Thermic Wiring

Find out what Therm IC Basic ski boot heater system you have.
Therm-ic has the next generation of ski boot heaters. The old systems using the SmartPack, SuperMax, Max, Basic or LionPack batteries use the red connectors. The new C-Pack batteries use the new grey connectors. These connectors and wiring are incorporated into the insole and heating elements. If you are using the older insoles and need new batteries, you will need to replace your insoles as well. If you are looking for trouble shooting tips for your DISCONTINUED BATTERIES look here.

Most Frequent Boot Heater Problems

  1. Batteries are not fully charged. All rechargable batteries should be charged after each use. Not before you use.
  2. Boot heaters turned on too late. You should turn on your boot heaters when you put on your boots to build up the heat.
  3. Wrong socks. Socks make a difference. If the socks are too thick, they will insulate the heat to reach your toes. Wear a thin sock when you have boot heaters and your toes will be warmed by the heating elements.
  4. Heat elements installed under insoles. If the heat element is installed under the insole, the heat won't reach your feet. The heating element should be installed on top of your current insoles. Not under them.
  5. Forget to cycle during summer storage. You should fully discharge, then fully charge your batteries at least once during the summer.
