Our comments on the Therm-ic Basic; This is the system uses AA batteries which can be found almost anywhere which is a great advantage if your batteries go dead and you still need heat. Using fresh AA batteries are the key to using the Therm-ic Basic. So make sure to check expration dates on the batteries.
I only need a boot heater for the one trip I take a year. The Thermic Basic did the job fine. My big surprise was how well they worked in my outdoor boots also. I just took the insoles out of my snowboard boots and put them in my work boots. The how to install video Alpine Accessories has on their web site also helped. Nice job.

I wish I could do over
After using the Basic battery boot heaters that use AA batteries, I realize I should have not been so cheap and got one of the rechargeable system.
Dont get me wrong, the Basic keep my feet warm. The problem is when I use the batteries for an hour or two. The next time I go out, I dont know how much power is remaining and end up carrying extra batteries around. This has become a pain.
I now realize with a rechargable battery, I could fully charge them and start with full power batteries each time I go out.
Maybe Ill loose one battey pack. Then Ill upgrade to the rechargable batteries for sure!!
