Cross Country Skis, Bindings, Poles and Boots,
Snow conditions in the Chicago area does not give us alot of snow for cross country skiers, so our selection is rather limited. Cross country gear from Alpina, Fischer, Rossignol and Salomon are made in Europe.
Cross Country Ski Boots
Use our Boot Sizing Chart to help with selecting your size.
Cross Country Bindings
SNS bindings and 3 pin bindings have been discontinued. If you have a 3 pin binding you need the Blazer boot which is also now discontinued. If you have the SNS binding you need the SNS compatible boot. The current standard is the NNN and all new cross country nordic skis will have the NNN Rotefella binding. The newer ski models come with integrated NNN binding systems already on the skis.
Cross Country Ski Poles
Visit our SKI POLE SIZING CHART
for selecting the correct ski pole length. To size your poles for cross country skiing, pick a pole that comes to under your arm pit comfortably. You can go shorter or longer based on your skiing style. If you go slower taking shorter steps you could go a few centimeters shorts. If you go faster and take long strides take a bit longer pole so you can reach out farther. The poles can always be cut shorter by taking off the grip and cutting the shaft.
