Product features to the Giro Vue MIPS helmet with visor...
CONSTRUCTION- Giro's In-mold shell construction fuses the polycarbonate outer shell with the helmets impact absorbing foam liner for extra durability without excess weight.
VISOR- The large anti-fog lens offers UV protection and has a 19-42% Variable Light Transmission tint that works well in bright light and low light conditions. The mirror outer layer helps reduce glare. The unique goggle lens is attached at two pivot points. One on each side of the helmet so you can lift the lens out of the way anytime easily. The lens gives you one of the largest field of visions ever. There is no goggle frame to obstruct your view and you can see clearly from side to side. A triple face foam strip at the bottom of the lens lays on your face when the lens is down to seal the air and snow from coming in. The lens is replaceable if you were to damage it.
OVER THE GLASSES- There is no goggle, only a visor so you can wear your glasses. The visor is far enough from your face that it won't interfere with your glasses.
MIPS It stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System. There are three main components to a MIPS equipped helmet: the interior foam liner, the low friction liner and an elastomeric attachment system between them. If you have an angled impact, the elastomeric attachment system stretches to allow the foam liner to rotate independently around your head. This reduces rotational forces for better protection.
VENTING: 13 supercharged vents, 6 of them adjustable, allows you to regulate more or less air into the helmet to your comfort level.
CHIN STRAP- Adjustable and padded with a snap clip.
EAR PADS- The ear pads are removable and have donut cut outs on the inside to accept Giro's audio Chips speaker systems.
SAFETY- Conforms to all ASTM F2040 and CE prEN1077 approved standards.
CARRY BAG- Includes a soft carry bag to protect your helmet and goggle while transporting.

Our comments; VUE is the next step in helmet goggle evolution. Two things we really like, #1- the LARGE field of vision. It's like not having a goggle on your face. #2- Many people have a hard time getting a goggle to fit comfortably. This goggle doesn't sit on your face. Instead it just a lens in front of your eyes. It feels strange at first but you get accustom to it very quickly.
This helmet has been so great this past season. It makes messing with your goggles and helmet so much easier! I wear glasses when I ski and this feature worked perfectly. Also having the option to replace with different lenses makes this helmet a must!
