The Therm-ic Basic Powerpack with the Trimfit heating system uses AA batteries to power the heat and is one of the lowest priced heating systems on the market. The Therm-ic Basic is best for those that require heat occasioanlly, say 3-5 days a season. If you require heat more often, consider a rechargeable battery system as it will save you money in the long run. And the Therm-ic Trimfit system is easy to install to your current insoles, custom insoles, or orthodics. Watch a video to see how to install your boot heaters.
Therm-ic Basic Powerpack with TrimFit features...
The Basic Powerpack can be used world wide because it uses AA batteries which are available just about everywhere. And the Trimfit heat elements fit almost every type of winter boot.
How the heat works. Therm-ic controls the power from the batteries to the heating elements with their Impulse Control system by impulses. This system delivers heat and helps the batteries last longer.
Battery duration: The Basic Powerpack can deliver comfortable warmth for up to 12 hours with fresh AA alkaline batteries (not included). You can use rechargable batteries but you will get about 25% less heat and 25% less duration.
You can select between three heat settings to determine the amount of heat for your comfort level. Keep in mind, the higher the heat, the faster the batteries wear down.
On setting 1 you'll receive 35C / 95F of heat and lasts approximately 12 hours.
On setting 2 you'll receive 42C / 108F of heat and lasts approximately 5.5 hours.
On setting 3 you'll receive 68C / 154F and lasts approximately 2 hours.
The results are based on using fresh AA Alkaline batteries. You'll get about 25% less results if you use rechargeable batteries. Keep in mind, only have the heat on when needed. For instance, you turn the batteries off when you go inside for lunch which will give you more time.

Our comments; AA Akaline batteries can be found almost anywhere which is a great advantage if your batteries go dead. A disadvantage to AA is over time you'll purchase many batteries. If you plan on using your boot heaters more than 5 times a season, consider purchasing a Therm-ic system that uses a rechargable battery. It will save you money down the road.
I was surprised the AA batteries keep my feet warm. Only complaint I have is I have to change out the batteries everyday. I go through a lot of batteries because the rechargeable ones dont last as long. Next time I get the better system.

I take one trip a year for 5 days and the AA batteries were fine but I wish I had purchased the rechargeable battery. It was a hassle carrying around extra batteries. I never realized how heavy 8 batteries were.

They keep my feet warm!
The battery boot heaters really keep my feet warm. I was very surprised. What I was disappointed about was carrying around 8 AA batteries because I never know when the current ones would run out of power. Next time Ill get the rechargeable Therm-ic batteries and make my life easier..
